xternal world;Corium
The corium consists of an elastic substance the biochemical structure of which is mainly composed of hyaluronic acid and collagen tissue. Several elements fill up the corium by forming a compound with the hyaluronic acid. In fact this acid plays the part of medium for the skin.
Hyaluronic acid
As one gets older, it becomes more and more difficult for the skin to produce hyaluronic acid itself. Ageing of the skin gradually starts because of thinning of this acid. Through the years the skin layer diminishes (6% every ten years) and minor skin cracks, usually called wrinkles appear.
Skin metabolism
Skin metabolism requires numerous elements on cell level. Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. Through the years problems crop up with the microcirculation causing a shortage of oxygenation (supply of oxygen) in the skin cells. The skin deteriorates, the cell activity slows down. We observe a decrease in collagen production (1% a year) and of elastin. The skin loses its tone, suppleness and radiance. Mesotherapy fills up the shortage of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals and amino acids in a natural way. Through microinjections these active substances are brought into the skin where they are needed to restore the skin.
By damages caused by the sun and the gradual reduction of collagen the skin loses its radiance and elasticity. Mesotherapy causes the metabolic processes to be activated in the skin. So by this symptoms of old age can be treated. Coagulating of collagen for instance is undone. This in turn is good for the evenness of the underlying skin layers giving the skin new elasticity.
The Anti-Ageing Mesotherapy treatment diffuses hydrating substances and vitamins in the skin through minor superficial injections into the skin. The persons that underwent this treatment, describe their skin as firmer and more radiant, in a word younger.
The Mesotherapy treatment consists of microinjections with:
Hyaluronic acid: This is a natural component of the skin necessary for a strong, firm and elastic skin. When less hyaluronic acid is produced, the skin will lose its youthfulness and elasticity and wrinkles may arise. With mesotherapy the shortage of hyaluronic acid is made good;
Vitamins: Various vitamins necessary for a good biological balance of the skin, including vitamins A,B,C,E and K. By this thinning of the skin is counteracted, antioxidants are injected, the creation of collagen is stimulated, and microcirculation of the skin is improved;
Amino acids: Important for the protein metabolism of the skin. They restructure and repair the tissue damaged by ageing of the skin;
Minerals: - such as sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium are responsible for numerous cell functions and stimulate the tissue metabolism;
Coenzymes: combine with free radicals and protect against harmful environmental influences and accelerate the reconstruction of the tissue;
Nucleic acids: stimulate the creation of new protein in the skin (protein biosynthesis).
Above active substances are injected into the skin of the affected area through tiny shots. The shots into the skin also lead to a better circulation resulting in a recovering effect of the skin itself and the tissue underneath.
As the injected substances are disintegrated again by the body, no permanent results are to be expected. A maintenance program is to be recommended to preserve the achieved result. This may vary for each skin type and depends on age.
Treatment program
The mesotherapy treatment consists of a series of 6 treatments dependent on skin type and age.
Age: 35+
* 6 treatments (1 treatment every 2 weeks);
* maintenance treatment (1 treatment every 6 months).
Age: 45+
* 6 treatments (1 treatment a week);
* maintenance treatment (1 treatment every 4 months).
Mesogun
By using the Mesogun above active substances can be injected accurately. Besides adjusting the depth it is possible to regulate the amount of liquid* vloeistof. With the Mesogun the speed with which the needle penetrates the skin, is also accelerated substantially diminishing any possible pain sensation. Mesotherapy is used for the whole face, neck and low neckline and takes about 30 minutes.
What to expect after the mesotherapy treatment
After the treatment there will be a slight redness of the treated area. Your skin may glow and feel a little tight. One hour after the treatment you may treat your skin with a skin care product.
Risks and complications of mesotherapy
Hardly any risks are attached to the mesotherapy treatment. Only the body’s own substances are injected. When during the treatment a superficial blood vessel is punctured, there may be a minor extravasation of blood that will disappear again quickly. In almost all cases you may continue your activities the following day.
N.B. Any important contraindications will come up for discussion at the intake.
Advantages of Mesotherapy:
* skin rejuvenation;
* hydration of the skin;
* safe method;
* injected substances are biodegradable.
